I was searching my computer and came across this scan, from 1972 of 2 friends ( the 2 looking at a map) that I did not travel with, but ran into in Rome. This was how empty the Trevi Fountain was, at prime afternoon time.

We went back last year, and even at 930 am or so, it was so packed you could barely see it.
