Now I can't get into my desktop either. I try logging in via GW on both laptop and desktop. I'm using my phone here.

I now see that screen every time I go into a user’s activity to see their other posts or comments.

I also have a Macbook Pro with Safari and this was not a pop up ad, it was a banner ad from the top that moved down to cover the links at the top and turned the entire page blue and would produce a new tab with a cookie ad in it, if you tried to navigate the page clicking on any part of the page to scroll or open a thread. I have not seen a problem today at all. I think there was something wrong with the ad itself. I already have my settings set for 'no pop up ads' which I don't have a problem with. And any 'moving' ads are usually 'disabled by disabling plug ins' in my browser preferences, but doing that didn't help in this case. I don't use Firefox. I can see stationary banner ads along the top and the right side of the screen, on GW but I ignore those.

On my iPhone, I use the 'frequently used sites' icons that are there when I click on Safari and it takes me right to it. No (lousy) App for me either. But I also learned the trick (from a fellow GW poster) to find it anytime, from the Houzz Home page drop down Menu. And I always use a mobile devise (iPhone and iPad Mini) but it also has worked on a PC or Android devise when I've tried it. That other GW post was some time back when Houzz was reaking havoc with our beloved GW Forums soon after the transition. Everyone was having issues with their bookmarks and previous ways of finding GW. The poster mentioned that it was now listed under the 'Advice' section!! I'm sorry I don't remember who it was to give them credit for that marvelous discovery. Previously I believe there was a 'GardenWeb' listing directly from the main menu. So even just now, from Safari, I Googled Houzz, clicked on the Home Page, then click on the Menu icon to get here: Then click on the 'Advice' section and you will see 'Houzz Discussions' and 'Gardenweb Discussions': I never knew there were two separate Forums before. Then to get here for instance, click on the 'Home Forums' under the GW Discussions. And then you have all of the Home Forum topics: Or the wonderful Garden Forums etc. I'm not sure if everyone else is doing it like this or something different. But this simple direction has helped me immensely. I don't comment often (especially having delt with long term family health problems) but this Forum is and has been such a lifeline for me. It is informative, entertaining and has such emotional continuity with the history of such great posters. The knowledge base and the time to giving help from everyone is just amazing. And yes I quite agree with the frustrations of new Houzz posters who don't know the GW ways and other irritations. For instance I was no longer getting email notifications on comment follow ups like I used to on the old GW. I'll see what happens after this one though. But I plan on sticking around for the long haul. Sharing knowledge and helping; isn't that what GW is all about? Paying it Forward.

Strange, starting last night, my bookmarked gardenweb links no longer work. When I click on any of them, they take me to the same Houzz Page, which also shows me as not signed in. This morning I tried the links to the three gardenweb boards I visit and none are working. Last night, it was just happening with one. Now this morning, it happened with this board. Im using my same iPad I always use, I haven’t changed anything, haven’t cleared my cache or reset my iPad that would’ve logged me out of everything. Basically I haven’t changed anything, but boom, my gardenweb links stopped working. I started to type in www.gardenweb.... and the gardenweb link to this board popped up in my history, and when I clicked on it, it brought me here. Phew! But when I click on my bookmark link, it takes me to Houzz. I wonder why all of a sudden my bookmarked links are now redirecting me? Last night when I was having trouble accessing a different board when my bookmarked link kept sending me to Houzz, I managed to find it by coming here first, with my bookmarked link, then from here, I then looked for the main gardenweb board menu and and found the board listed there. I then bookmarked it again. That new bookmark still takes me to gardenweb whereas the bookmark I’ve had since I joined years ago now only sends me to a Houzz page (not even the Houzz version of the board I’m trying to visit. edited to add, my new bookmarks this morning now don’t seem to work either. If I can’t bookmark my favorite boards anymore, I’m done with Gardenweb/Houzz unfortunately. I visit here frequently on a daily basis, but if it takes me several minutes to try to find my favorite boards b/c my saved bookmarks no longer take me to them, then I give up. And the weird thing is, when I click on my bookmarks now, it takes me to Houzz, but it’s just a random Houzz location, with tons of unrelated threads from different boards.

Yay, Sheri, that's it!!! I never would have found that. I'm so happy, but am now going to print the few I tink I can't live without. Graywings, thanks, I'd looked in Ideabooks and they aren't there (I have a couple of recipes in my Ideabooks Recipe folder, but not all of the dozens I've saved over the years). I never would have clicked on the "SEARCH" function in the Ideabooks and that's the way you get the dropdown list that has "Bookmarks" at the bottom (as Sheri described).

I got back into my desktop by going to history and deleting all the Houzz only. I then logged in. I still can not see anything in my account or anyone else. This is Iphone, Ipad, and desktop.

I'm sorry so many of you are having problems . I never sign out of gardenweb, and don't have any problems on my desktop, so far.

I can see that URL looks extremely long - was that your bookmarked link?

Did you try simply typing in 'gardenweb.com' or editing that URL down to just those words and reloading yet?

I don't sign out either, but it seems to happen after updates sometimes. I haven't had to sign in for some time now - perhaps I'm due 😏

I believe they're trying to get rid of the trouble makers who called squatting rights in houzz who really never contribute to their business model. Houzz is an online community and software for architecture; interior design and decorating; landscape design and home improvement with the forum used as an afterthought to attract people to the site. Gardenweb was purchased from NBCuniversal 6 years after houzz went live and took in the freeloaders with the deal who do little to support their business model.

" I never sign out of gardenweb, " It has NOTHING to do with anything anyone other than Houzz is doing. I have clicked "keep me logged in" and never ever would bother logging out...it's not US its THEM. They did some 'update' and it's really messed plenty up.

I was out as well but finally and I don't know how but I just kept pushing buttons and putting in new passwords and finally got back in. I did contact Houzz and they did get back to me and helped with password resetting.

I only operate on a laptop and have this forum bookmarked.

Blfenton, that's me as well. Bookmarked for years. I can get past the original no results page by repeatedly clicking log in button. But after inputting my password it just sits there and buffers. I've walked away, came back and nothing is registering.

I don't know why it's affecting several, but not all of us. Or why it's happening at all. (I'm on my phone). If it wasn't for writing down my password, I'd have no idea what it was. There's no reason to ever sign out here.

I don't know if signing up as a new member would work or not.

No one is rude. We are just flustered. Things change from one hardware to another, and from one system to another. What works for one time or for one person, does not work again or for another person.

If Houzz wants me to buy from them, they need to pay for better people. I am not risking my money on anyone that cannot do a simple website!
