@murraysmom Zone 6a OH I feel the same as you do about these challenging Sunday Brain Game puzzles! I surprise myself when I have an idea of a solution but I don’t often have those ideas. Heck, sometimes I have trouble understanding the solutions that Jasdip so cleverly presents in her cryptic sentences.

I think it’s so funny that I usually miss the obvious with these puzzles - because, IRL I am usually pretty sharp. I didn’t get this one either, Like murraysmom I usually just wait around for Jasdip’s answer - which I might add I usually need a bit of spelling out to understand too. murraysmom and I think alike on these puzzles - as well as on some other topics here on KT! 😁

foas - you’re East Coast, yes? From West Coast, I know I’ve heard the term ’starters’ for a first course in a more formal dinner or even listed that way on menus. But, apps, the more casual word, is what first comes to mind for me. We definitely say four-uh-ners. A very different sound for the ’IN’ part of inners. My birthplace is MT & I spent adolescence & teen years in AK so I don’t think I have a typical regional accent or speech pattern. A person once told me I sounded like I came from NY. Didn’t say which part but I think that’s the MT influence.

My first stop was to ssk my wife who he is. She’s good with recognizing celebrities, but had nothing. Then it dawned on me that he was probably the contestant. not part of the puzzle? And now I have a guess!

I struggled with this one for a while last night, closing it after coming up with just one possibility that I thought was pretty lame. Opened it up again just now and had my AHA moment -- I do believe I have it!

Ha -- my lame answer was so bad I can't even remember what it was now! Hopefully foas will warm to the idea that the correct answer is so clear, once you get it there isn't much question.

Hi floral ... and how many chickens did you have to count, eggzackly, prior to the hatching?

Usually I don't have a clue - but this time I thought it was to be the same scenario - and then an idea that looked legit popped into this old ffafarfart'ffafarfart's head!

We'll see what turns out.

I was thinking cube early on but somehow it didn't look 3D to me, more like framed or on a plate. An 8 on a plate? A plate 8? In retrospect it was a worse guess than it seemed at the time. Oh well, whether I get it or not I always enjoy our Sunday "playdate"!

I find that more frequently I can't remember a common word that I need, at 95, but pleased that, after some incubation - my mind came up with this one.
