Comments (2)I think you are right! I vaguely remember finding a viburnum in flower somewhere in the woods earlier in the year. Don't think it was this one though...I'm going to tag it today so I can use it as a guide for next year. Thanks so much for the quick ID!...See MoreSpring Hill catalog, pretty flowers
Comments (13)I agree about Springhill and Michigan bulb. I just looked through their catalogs and was burned to see the prices they charge for bulbs and bare root plants. I can pay the same or less at my local fancy nursery and get a much bigger plant in terrific health. Since comparing bulb prices a few years ago, I no longer buy bulbs from anyone but Van Engelen's. Their quality, customer service, and prices can't be beat. Their catalog doesn't have photos (because they are wholesalers), but their sister (retail) company, John Scheepers, does have photos, so get their catalog and see everything Van Engelen's sells....See MoreBlue hosta--small, very small
Comments (13)Yes, I have been gardening more years than I will admit to, Babka! And we are both right. A garden is non-stop change, some you choose and some find you, like the herd of deer I battle. But there are some plants that genuinely are "plant and forget". I have many hostas that fit that description. They are such monsters to move or divide that I try to plant them in a permanent home. Of course, I fertilize, water, mulch as needed but they are virtually carefree for me, knock on wood. I also have astilbes, maidenhair ferns, balloon flowers and some others that have been in the same place with no dividing etc. for 25 years plus. Admittedly, most of my perennials want a lot more attention than that so I love the "plant and forget" (except for admiring them) all the more. And Caliloo, that Baby Blue Eyes is really appealing. I may have to try more than one of these but Blue Mouse Ears seems to have the vote....See MoreShade plant id... small blue flower
Comments (3)Commelina, or dayflower. They are a trap for flea beetles in my garden and look terrible about mid-summer. And reseed everywhere. Pretty easy to pull out though. Sandy...See MoreRelated Professionals
