This is during construction. The whole house will be grey like the top. The stairs will be more period appropriate. The porch has dark tile.

I agree, the door is the wrong door for the house. However, that isnt what you asked. I would have the steps wood, or possibly brick. No tile, and they should be much wider than the temporary ones there now.

Those have been the steps and door for years, since we bought it.

My tile vote needs a closer look at the open riser used for the existing stairs. What's the depth front to back of the existing tread? If it's less than 11", more design contemplation is necessary.

I would do wide steps, the width of the porch opening. I agree you should also replace the Victorian door with one that is Craftsman in style.

Due to the codes for the banister, the stairs won't be quite as wide as the porch 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wide concrete steps that could be tiled would be great. But nothing gray. Craftsmen homes were not afraid of color and used a great deal of it. Bleak funereal colors were very far from what a Craftsman should use.

If you're doing tile choose something that doesn't get slippery when wet (most wet tile is slippery). You sure don't want anyone getting hurt.

Tile is specified with a slip rating. Get the non-slip ones.

You need exterior wet rated porcelain, with a DCOF rating of .62 or greater.
