The wood in our barn was made from trees off the property...the beams are hand-hewn so we figure it was in the 1790s. By 1800 the sawmills started moving in.

Some art around town...

This was taken the day after hurricane Irma. There are all kinds of painted murals all over the city:

It might not look like much, but people come from miles away for donuts at this little place in our town here in SoCal. My brother once sent me an article about it from his Kansas City newspaper. (Not my photo…never thought to take a pic of it.)

There’s no mistaking that our mountain village is still somewhat on the wild side. Here are some horses from one of our local wild herds grazing calmly on the village’s main road at the entrance to our grade school (LOL)!

Apparently I have no pictures of my town, other than my own yard, on my computer right now. So, how about the next town over? Frankfort cemetary, which overlooks the Kentucky river and state capitol. It's also where Daniel Boone was buried.

I know, but its not . The water station is in our small downtown area.

John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge - opened in 1866 was the longest suspension bridge in the world until the Brooklyn Bridge, also designed by John A. Roebling.

Added cake toppers but the burnt almond cake is a local favorite that cannot be found elsewhere though many have tried to clone it and failed.
