Greek Villa sheen

Going to paint remodeled basement Greek Villa in matte and the trim in Greek Villa. But I need help/ should I do satin or semi gloss for trim?? Help!!

Choose the product that you are using on the trim, then choose from the sheens available.

Your SW will (should) have sheen samples in most products especially for door/trim cabinet specific product.

The satin finish is a great option if you want something with a bit of sheen but not too much. It's also easier to clean than matte, which is perfect for areas like trim that might get a bit more wear and tear.

@barncatz Thank you for the tile suggestion. I really like them. When searching online, those did not come up. I will check them out! @Patricia Colwell I agree, paint should be last. Although our new build is not an open floor plan, the main, public spaces will be the same tone paint and Greek Villa works in the living, hallways and with the wood floors being used throughout. Alabaster works well also so it is an option. I know the mainstay white tiles are not a good fit for the warmer white walls I am seeking...and I want to stick to my budget also. Thank you both for taking the time to respond with such great remarks. I appreciate it.

Did you end up going with Greek villa for you trim colour? I was thinking about the same colour. I too have white grids in the window but I have ivory cabinets going in. Having a hard time picking the right colour.

What's wrong with painting brick? Go for it. I would paint the brick, walls, and possibly the ceiling all in the Greek Villa. GV is a very nice color. The effect will be to simplify and brighten the space. The white/off white of Greek Villa will bring out the beautiful wood tones, too.

Many times the same paint on the walls and ceiling work well. And sometimes the same paint on walls and trim is the best choice (different sheens). I would only do that if your bedroom wall paints would look good with Greek Villa trim, since it’s easiest to carry the trim color throughout the house. If you have crown molding and you want your molding to stand out, I think Chantilly Lace or HRW would work fine with Greek Villa. They have enough contrast to live together. It all depends on the look you want to have. Long term, brighter white trim like Chantilly lace is usually easier to work with if you want to change paint colors later.

On the other hand, semi-gloss offers a shinier finish that can really make your trim pop. It's also more durable and resistant to moisture, which could be beneficial in a basement environment. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference and the overall aesthetic you're going for. Both finishes have their own unique qualities, so go with what feels right for you and your space! By the way, I'm thinking about a move to Dubai, Oasis by Emaar. I think it could be a great place to find a home and start my own company.
