HELP -Covering Eyebrow Arch window

I want to install roller shades to cover the large eyebrow arch window and 2 small windows on either side. The issues with doing this are: 1. The top of windows are 20 feet high so install is hard to do as a 1 person DIY. 2. A designer suggests inside mount attaching the frame to where the arch ends and becomes vertical, thus the horizontal frame will obstruct part of the window and view and leave the arch area open to continued heat from sun all day due to southern exposure. The 2d suggestion is:2. To attach as outside mount roller frame to wall centered just above arch window , which would cover entire window but would square off full area of window. If I do this, then the solar shades on the smaller windows will look dwarfed next the the large window. Then, do I install solar shades on 2 smaller windows as outside or inside mount?The summer sun adds at 20 degrees to inside temperature and I need to cover them. I really don't want curtains on the windows. I have been using the whie styrofoam poiy panels layered over these windows that do cover most oxf large window and cut to fitpanels for smaller windows.Lastly, the solar shade are costly...$1,500.-2,500.00 with motorizing timer. I would like opinions on suggestions 1 & 2 and other ideas to cover these windows.Thanks in advance for the feedbackL.

I use custon solar shades for arched windows of they are installed inside mount with tiny little pegs . I need to see your windows to hazard aguess as to what you are doing.I get many solasr shades from Steves blinds and have used a guy to cut and build a custom light weight frame those shades are really permanent and then I handgdrapes from just below the arch all across the wall but I need to see your issue. Post the pic here in a comment DO NOT start another post .

Thanks gang for the responses! With our high fence and all the trees around our home, we can’t see our neighbors and they can’t see in our living room. I just want to make sure our home doesn’t look unfinished with no curtains. Sometimes I want them and sometimes I don’t. We need more color but I don’t think I want the curtains to have the color. Eventually we plan to have more color above the fireplace to draw attention away from the too ornate flower basket fireplace. It’s a work in progress. Our old house didn’t have any curtains and only had blinds so window treatments are new to me.

For a coordinated look, mount all the drapery rods at the top of the vertical wall just where the ceiling starts sloping. A bit of eyebrow window will poke out when they are closed, but not much. Take a long piece of blue tape and run it across the window at that height to see how much will be exposed. You may want to choose a washable dog-friendly fabric for your curtains and allow for significant (5% is typical for cotton) shrinkage when they are washed. Roller or cellular shades could have an inside or outside mount.

Why is the arch cut off by the ceiling? I would keep it mostly bare, but if you need some privacy I would do a simple duette/cellular shade or roller blind that matches the trim color. Place the blinds on the trim between the window and the arch. Done in the same white the shade will mostly disappear when opened. I don't think you have room for an inside mount.

Use a solid surface material like quartz or corian. A good fabricator can "mold" it into cut/curved pieces that get polished out into one solid curved piece. This shows you how it can be done: http://www.marioandson.com/blog/making-flat-things-round-things/
