Brunnera 'King's Ransom'
Comments (6)I looked into this plant several months ago, after learning that a local plant sale will offer it in June. I love Brunerra and would have a huge collection if I had enough shade in my garden. So far I only have four kinds, three cultivars and the species. I like the look of 'King's Ransom', but worry that the varigation around the outside would fade out later in the season (like 'Hadspen Cream') and it would end up looking a lot like Jack Frost. The plant sale is also offering the new 'Spring Yellow' Brunnera, which has golden foliage. I think I may get this one; it is very unusual. Comments (9)Hi Bunnycat, first, did you buy this from a commerical grower or someone on ebay? In either case, with King's Ransom someone could have made an honest mistake. Playful Spectrum sounds like the plant has a problem. A healthy Playful Spectrum does has a med. to dark green color to the leaves depending on light conditions.Contact the seller, they should be willing to replace the plant(s) that you have purchased. If you purchased it on ebay and are interested in getting quality plants again, please contact me and I will give you the name of some growers who I have dealt with for quite awhile and have never had a problem with.If there is a mistake or plant is beyond saving they will be more than happy to replace it. I also have Playful Spectrum coming up now from leaves so if you are willing to wait, I could send you one when big enough. You would just have to pay postage....See MoreKing's Ransom
Comments (39)Hello to all on here, including two I know (sutto and cavoodle) I'll try to put up a pic of my own KR for comparison in a moment, but first just wanted to comment on the 'rosetting' that sutto was mentioning earlier on. I found in an old BSI article that the pic of KR on fcbs. the owner had found that many of his Neos had rosetted and could only put it down to his extremely high humidity. And that he found KR only did it once as opposed to flowering, however Medallion had been known to continually rosette. Now that I know this, I am scheming ways to create a mini sauna room for these two Neos to go in haw haw haw !...See MoreKing's Ransom Rose
Comments (1)probably have to wait until next spring unless you can find it on sale someplace. Not the time for buying potted roses locally (except for the few that HD might have). Was that the only King's Ransom? When you say it "looked bad", what exactly does it look like? Dead canes? No leaves? I might venture a guess that it came down with blackspot (a fungal disease that can defoliate a plant) and needed treatment with a fungicide, but need a little more info....See More- 2 years agodcarch7 d c f l a s h 7 @ y a h o o . c o m thanked morz8 - Washington Coast
