Comments (9)@ Polly. Glad to be back woman! Vegas is not for us. Although the hotel was to die for, Vegas itself is nothing to write home about, in my opinion. We Stayed at the Wynn...the naked prince harry scandel place... I didnt get the new plant yet. I told my mom to hold on to it until the new house and till I get a handle on what I already have. I dont want to take on too much at once. I am just starting to get used to what I have and I am getting a care package this week with some new plants. So I have enough to keep me busy for the winter now. Although it is to hard when walking through the store to pass up something eye catching...hubby would kill me if I added anything else right now. HAHA. He loves them all but knows I cant over take the inlaws with plants. My comment is why not. Add some life to the place!@! Hubby is doing great now, thank you for asking. Bot he had it bad. I felt awful. I had no idea what to do. It was nice for me only in that because of him being sick we spent the whole afternoon and evening Thursday night in bed. I love it. And the bed was so heavenly, it was just like laying of puffy clouds. omgoodness!...See Moreno more roses....this year
Comments (7)Tournament of Roses-- outstanding bloomer, attractive flower, partial BS resistance; here it had canker problems, but we're particularly bad for that. Garden Party-- hardiest white HT, excellent bloomer in hot or cool weather, big flowers in spring and especially fall. Miss AAB-- striking deep hot pink, somewhat stingy for me but worth growing. IIRC, mine froze out in a subzero winter, but that might have been a fluke. Pink Peace-- hardy and quite vigorous, wider than average, large flowers with intense fragrance, blowsy and charming. If these were random choices, you could hardly have done better among classic HTs....See MorePots on sale - Which sizes work best?
Comments (3)Bands do better potted up gradually but once they're a couple of years old bigger will be better. Since those big ones are on sale you might want to grab them now and save them for when your roses mature. In the mean time I would just get some inexpensive nursery type pots to grow them up in....See MoreAre these leave/stem-less orchids dead?
Comments (5)I have a friend with an orchid in the same predicament. Hers has healthy looking roots, but no leaves. And it has been without leaves now for a couple of months and hasn't made any new leaves. I have read that if an orchid with leaves has no roots, it can be saved, but if it has roots and no leaves, it's a hopeless case. I say hope springs eternal. You might keep caring for them for a while and see what develops. I have brought one back from the brink of death, but it was an opposite situation. Mine had very puny leaves and no roots at all, but I have managed to bring it back to health. At least my answer should bump your post back to the top! :)...See Morenicholsworth Z6 Indianapolis
