rose, yes, the chairs from Target are great. DH had to get involved in the assembly because I had a hard time getting the screws tight enough, but the slipcovers went on easily and the chairs are comfortable. I'll take another pic when my new table arrives, which should be any day now! Side note about the chairs. I had ordered 2 ottomans (you can see part of one behind the sofa in photo #4) from O-stock before I ordered the chairs, and the ottomans match the chairs almost perfectly (which wasn't necessarily my intention). The chairs are darker IRL than they look in the pic. The fabric is woven orange/brown -- more brown than orange.

Hello!! ratherbesewing - the mirror came from Lamps Plus.com for $200. We love it! cyn427 - I think the color is a perfect 50/50 mix of blue/green. I can't look at it and see blue, nor can I look at it and see green. It is it's own unique combined combo of the two. It is truly gorgeous! Beekeeperswife - I'll be on the beach this weekend as well! I can't wait!! We are SO ready for a vacation! Enjoy! anele - yes, I do have a hard time calling it a basement! It doesn't look or feel like a basement. I sometimes call it my dh's glamour "man" cave! LOL! I can't imagine anything other than white slipcovered furniture, however I do love the new modern modular sofa's that I have been seeing around! But I really want the flexibility of having the slipcovers, especially going with white furniture. Elaine

Exposed & painted joists & utilities is a fun look that helps ceiling height perception BUT a very difficult messy project, a lot of work to “tidy up” the wires, pipes, valves & ductwork into something presentable before spray painting it all. I wouldn’t go through all that in a house you intend to sell. Maybe the realtor can suggest this to potential buyers as a possible remedy they can do themselves and show them examples of other 7’ basement ceilings that have exposed joists. Pop out a couple of the drop ceiling panels in a good spot (somewhere without tangles of wires visible) and take a pic & measure the difference in height; paint a sample area of joists white, the realtor can show buyers that sample area and see if that might be an acceptable compromise.
