IDK but the word 'hotheaded' makes me guess head. Cooldown by evaporation, shower or wet washcloth or going swimming. On the other hand I have also heard that some people's palms sweat when they are nervous, and perhaps it is because the palms heat up; same cure, evaporation. Or of course for both by reducing stress.

I think I might have been still a child when I read a story about a woman --I think she may have been Swedish-- who took her daughter to a hospital for a hand wound and pointed out to the doctor that one of the fingers was not wrinkling from water exposure.
