Can I put rugs on LVP flooring? Concerns about latex/rubber contact.

My LVP kitchen and bath install was just completed and I‘m very pleased with it. The installer did a great job. The flooring is Roppe 20(+)mil, wood-look— more of a commercial product, I believe. I need area rugs in the kitchen to prevent puddles of sitting water from my messy- drinker dog (other than just a plastic tray- he walks away dribbling) and also for decor purposes. Everyhing I read says no latex/rubber pads or backing should be used, due to causing staining of the LVP. I also just read that polypropylene rugs should not be used- I thought a great option would be indoor/outdoor rug, but gripper/padding is still a concern. However, my (experienced) installer said not to worry about this isuue- that it’s more relevant to older flooring. Any advice and and/or especially, experience on what to use? I will attempt to contact the flooring company as well, for their advice.

Thank you for any insight!
