Thank you everyone. The area is a recessed window so they are also getting some sunlight granted only for a few hours in a day since the next house blocks most of the light. He figures if his electronics get too hot, then he can just open the window and open the patio door and get some airflow, so he loves this set up. I might be able to convince him of sjhokeyfan's idea of a media cabinet with the electronics on top and the wires dangling behind. Then stick all the extra stuff in the cabinet. It really is a nightmare when it comes to decorating. No command strips are allowed as they tear off the ultra fine wallpaper. Luckily there have been some hooks already placed and most of the windows already have curtain rods.

Do you have room for a buffet? Those lights have been around for eons- old looking style so don't go that way. Have you considered a crystal chandelier? I'm thinking that based on your earlier inspiration photos. I'm getting ready to travel til mid Feb so I don't have time to help you shop but can try and give a little help while I pack. Have you looked at upholstered parsons chairs for your table? From the get go I always imagined your place with grays, white and blush. Are you a pink girl at all?

Although you have some pretty furniture in this room, it doesn't look like an office. It looks like a place for leftover furniture. Might sound weird, but this room needs to look more like a home office. I would swap the desk and credenza like fissfiss suggested. Above the credenza, I would add wide shelving (as wide as the credenza), with at least 2 shelves, add books and decor, and above the desk I would hang a big clock. You should also address the rats nest of cords and cables under your desk. Unfortunately with that style of open bottom desk, all your cabling and cords are on display. There's plenty of cable/cord organizing systems out there. Any decor items on your credenza and shelves should relate to the purpose of the room, ie; work related. So remove the candlesticks. Not too many people work by candlelight anymore.

Can you post a photo of the room? Do you want a dark or light background for the wallpaper? Are you considering the leaf wallpaper in the last photo? If you are looking for a dark background, I have this peel and stick wallpaper on an accent wall in my bedroom. I think it would go nicely with the items you have selected.
