What stain color did you pair with your Coretec Cairo Oak floors?

My husband and I are building a home. We plan to use Coretec Cairo Oak LVP for the main level floors. Our kitchen cabinets will be painted SW Rock Bottom (a greenish black). I’m trying to figure out what wood stain color to use to stain the island, stairs, and ceiling beams that would look good with the floors. We are open to a stain that’s an exact match or one that’s slightly darker than the floors. What did you use? Pictures are appreciated. Thank you!

How about you post pictures of the vinyl floor, and the cabinet paint color? Not even pros have a memory bank full of every color option on the market.

The Houzz app crashed when I tried to post a photo, but I figured that people who already have the Cairo Oak floors installed in their own homes know what it looks like and what stain they used with it.

Hi @Lini Alim - We have not used Calypso Oak in our kitchen. It was installed in our basement. But we do have cabinets in our basement that will be white. Unfortunately the cabinet doors are not delivered to me yet. But I think you can never go wrong with Calypso oak and white cabinets.

A mix of color that I’ve tried is mixing water based stains together including early american and white pickling oak and then either mix in a top coat or do that after. I dont have exact ratios but I liked the outcome on some shelves I made.

I have just had my walls painted. Now going to do the flooring. So glad I waited to do the flooring. The painting and new blinds make the rooms look so much brighter. Previously considered the Calypso oak before the painting and was hesitant. Does it have a warmer golden or honey cast to it. Pictures don't seem to be accurate. I need a lighter color don't want anything that is dark and going to show the dust etc. Some of the lighter colors looked washed out. Don't want a golden color either but would prefer it be a warmer look. Do you like the Calypso oak and is it easy to clean.

you probably figured it out already, but littlehouseonalittleland on IG has a stain formula that matches her cairo oak floors perfectly. its on her paint highlight reel. She said she took a piece of the cairo oak floors to sherwin williams and they color matched it.
