scrappy2, there's really not much to show. Any cell phone pic I'd post would look like an unfinished door. My stuff was stripped before I applied the paint base. I used exterior so it had all the weather and UV protection elements in it. Just figured it couldn't hurt. I did use latex, because it was inside. I'm thinking you could use a tougher, oil base for cabinets that get a lot of action. Now, I did do a credenza, which I sold. I scuffed the finish with a 220 sanding block, being careful to get into detail with an emery board. I then applied the paint base and boom. No shine. Smooooooth and beautiful. 2 coats. Water proof against glass condensation, etc. My person is still thrilled with it a year+ and I'm using it all the time. I also used it to glue chipping paint down without it looking gummy. Other top coats (even DecoArt's supposedly matte finish) leave a discernible shine. Haven't tried Modern Masters, when my paint base is so inexpensive. Anyway, the chips glue down without any hint of glue, or looking top coated. I don't know how to explain how it Doesn't look top coated! I'm considering scuffing (or even sanding hard) the unfinished cherry face frame and drawer fronts I got from The Cabinet Joint. I love them, but I polyacryliced them (not polyurethane!) and even the satin is just too shiny. I'm eyeing my can of paint base for them instead.

Rita, Great point! If anyone has experience with that edge let me know. Is the concern mostly that its not smooth rubbing against. Also, we have children so let me know if there would be concerns around that. I guess I'm concerned that others might mistake it for a plastic countertop and wondering if that is likely. I realize I don't need to be concerned with what others think, however I guess I can't help it. ;)

Parisa...Yes! I love them. When we first got them, I searched the best ways to clean the very rare stains (like when rubbing alcohol hit the orange ink on my Hawaiian rolls and dissolved it into liquid orange stains), and didn't see Magic Erasers among the recommendations. I've used rubbing alcohol (good solvent) to clean it, and when necessary, added baking soda or liquid Bar Keepers Friend, whichever was handier. Never had a stain they didn't remove--sharpie, fruit, ORANGE INK! lol No damage to the finish. They look stunning, and have more subtleties than show in the pictures. They are a dream, very easy care and very easy cleaning. I do find that plated food cools fast on them, which is also true of granite and real marble bc of their density (and high specific heat capacity, for the science nerds, haha). I'm so glad I didn't go for granite a few years ago and be stuck with the looks that I'm now tired of. Marble is not only timeless, but always gorgeous. We get wowed compliments on it, too.
