You can buy pretty paper napkins. Separate the layers of the napkin and only use the decorative layer. Tear it into workable pieces. Ragged edges is what you want, so don't try for neat and tidy. :) Then use mod podge, or watered down Elmer's to cover the egg with the pieces of paper. Let it dry well. You can coat with another layer of just the mod podge. It dries shiny. Use a bottle cap to set the egg so that it can dry without rolling around. Cover any areas that were not covered in the first round. Then if you want you can add beads, pearls, glitter; whatever is pleasing to you. I used to do this with my kids when they were young, (and so was I ;).

@Sara Ho: Love that ceiling, but you are right, what a bear it must have been to make it :) @roarah: thanks, am surprised how well reality matches the renders; but I do think it differs from our original vision (for the better). Originally we were going to do all shades of gray. She was set on all grays. We recently moved to this house, and one thing we did outside of our wheelhouse is paint the dining room dark dark dark blue (again, almost black...I believe its called "Midnight Blue"). Was definitely a risky choice for our taste, and in the end....we absolutely love it. Its so different than our prior houses shades of golds, reds and earth tones. We painted the kitchen and family room shades of green, and while they look nice, they don't give us that same feeling as the dining room. After seeing BM's color of the year (I think its called shadow or smoke or something), but its purple, we said -- how about something like the dining room, except purple vs blue, but darker and more mysterious than the one BM called out. So we found Galaxy, which is on the same card and a notch darker....We love it, and now it feels like our "new look" is shades of black (only 3 rooms, but that's a lot). FYI -- the master bath is "green-black". BM Dragon's Breath. We really want to redo a lot of the materials, but that is out of the budget for a while, adding the Dragon's breath paint may have bought us some time :) I swear, we are not vampires....the rest of the rooms are light colored :) Cheers, Andy

few suggestions. Can you do a wall mount bracket for the tv and find a shallower media unit? since the space is a little tight, a few inches less of that cab would give you a little extra breathing room. Since you like more of a glam look, try to copy something like these Ikea hack^ and, you have plenty of space off to the left. above/below, Ikea Hacks you can also float this on the wall. the key is bring in the artwork off to the left like they've done here. try some of those string lights to hang on the wall, a plant in the corner. RH (but if you are handy, you can actually make this out of unfinished oak upper cabinets, set on a pedestal base, painted white) Is that a window or a door w/those drapes? if window, try doing a shade . paint colors or decor colors you may like. Notice the glass/silver coffee table or a table like this: Floor light and ceiling light find yourself some nice artwork for behind the sofa you could also use two of these types of square ottomans for a coffee table.

be nice if you could remove that plain mirror and do an antiqued mirror/glass (you can actually make something like this w/plain glass, or take the silver coating off the back of that current mirror) another option, peel and stick mirror tiles that go rightover that mirror Nice room, but it would look a bit warmer if you did a rug like this, and a potted plant w/a wood stand. right now everything is very gray/white and cold looking. a few elements w/texture and a bit of color would give it a bit more dimension place this in front of the mirror or on the table for your glass table top, try something like this the pink orchid above, or one like this, in a glass bowl w/moss would look very nice. you need something on that table, as well as the other elements. white orchid in a modern type of vase/holder. (the purple art on the wall is stunning!)
