I need help with patterned carpet on my stairs & mixing up patterns!
Comments (18)I'm having fun in PS with all your samples/pictures but what a conundrum :o Do you like blue? On my screen I see blue in that beautiful leopard rug and of course the dusty French blue goes great with the wood you chose. Do you have blue elsewhere in the house? Looking at the sample laying on the rug, it's the bottom row, third from the left. Personally, I stay away from colors that tend to look dingy or dull so I would want to go bright or darker...darker stair cases are usually more dramatic (around here). I see a lot of these stair runners or carpeted stairs. My husband cuts (has them bound) and installs countless stair runners. Yesterday's job was supposed to a runner but the customer changed her mind and did a full coverage of her staircase. This is what he installed 130 yds of so it wasn't just the stairs (not the actual house). Good luck. Can't wait to see which color you choose....See Morecolor and pattern mixing
Comments (10)I love this...I love someone with the guts to do something other than what we normally see here...so refreshing. I kind of like lime green...but I do like the fuchsia idea, too..I guess my choice might be influenced by the availability of items in the color I chose... Please keep updating this thread :)...See MoreTextured patterned carpet mixed with plush?
Comments (9)Last question - I think I decided to put LVP or laminate in the upstairs hall and bonus room at the end of the hall as long as it's not too many materials. With this mix, is it more important than ever to have all the same carpet throughout? Can I just put patterned carpet on the stairs only and plush in the rest? Does this mix work?: Upstairs: laminate or LVP thoughout (except for carpeted bedrooms/bathrooms) Stairs: carpeted Downstairs: birch real hardwoods throughout (except living and family room and tiled laundry)...See MoreOk to mix patterned chair with patterned rug?
Comments (2)Mixing patters is great, but the shape and scale of those two are too similar, which is why you might be doubting it. Any other patterns that chair comes in? If it were me picking, I’d look for a really graphic floral, a toile, a pinstripe, a Buffalo check, something that looks much bigger or much smaller than the design on the rug....See More- 7 months agolast modified: 7 months ago
