Are you talking about front entry or MUD entry? Also are you talking WIDTH or length of the fixture? What is the fixture? What does the space look like, add pictures?

Will this fixture be going in the front hall? Is is round? What is the height of the fixture? Please post a photo. Thanks.

^ agree with above - a two story foyer is going to need a significant fixture

FWIW there are lots of formulas online that help with calculating fixture size in a foyer - here’s an example:

Step 1: Measure the dimensions of your foyer’s length and width in feet
Step 2: Combine the sum of the two numbers for your ideal fixture diameter (in inches)
Step 3: Take the height of your ceiling in feet
Step 4: Multiply the number of feet by the ceiling height by 2.5 and 3 inches to determine your ideal light fixture height

For example, if your room measures 10’d x 10’w x 10’h, you would follow these steps as so:

Step 1: 10-foot length x 10-foot width
Step 2: 10 + 10 = 20. 20 inches will be our ideal diameter.
Step 3: 10-foot ceilings
Step 4: 10 x 2.5 = 25, and 10 x 3 = 30. 25” - 30” is ideal fixture height.

I would need to see the fixture but IMO a 2 storey entry needs light and lots of it facing down nut up the the ceiling . This foyer has so many post now I do not even know what is going on

I rounded up because I'm assuming the ceiling is 16+ ft.

I decided on a 32” very similar to what beverly posted (ceiling is 20+’). patricia, this was the last thing and once it’s installed and rug arrives this foyer is done!! i posted separately since it was a measurement question not really related to style or furnishings like the others.
