Bathroom sinks/vanity are IN bedroom, not bathroom- HUH?
Comments (30)My parents house is like that, but there’s a wall with a wide doorway into the area with the vanity, so it’s open but also easy to close off by just putting a curtain rail up. It’s also oriented to the room such that if you only use enough light at the vanity to wash your hands for a midnight potty run, it really isn’t enough to bother someone in the bed if you place the bed sensibly. Getting ready in the morning would be trickier if you needed to do makeup and so on so needed proper lighting, so that’s where a screen or a curtain would come in....See MoreBathroom sink 5-1/2" in
Comments (8)Fori, the faucets aren't in yet, but the holes are drilled. I pretended to be washing my hands at the sink, and it felt ok. I think with the water hitting near the center (narrow-ish sinks), that I will get used to it. It's not really uncomfortable. I'm near the finish line; we started the first week in February. I'm exhausted and on my last nerve. This upset me so much when the granite guys were here, but I'm thinking I can live with it. Thanks, everyone....See MoreKids Bathroom Remodel... 1 or 2 sinks?
Comments (2)If you leave the layout as is, do one sink. Having counter space in a bathroom is important. When we did our remodel several years ago we opted to put in one big sink with two faucets in our kids bathroom. I'd never done a remodel before (we did the whole house) and with so many details to consider/decide upon, it never occurred to me to check how much counter space there would be vs doing a smaller sink with one faucet. Big mistake. There is not enough counter space....See More8’11 x 8’6 bathroom layout help
Comments (12)It's right here. Next to the vanity. Twenty four inches wide, approximately. Note. When you stand in a lowly tub shower, which you may be doing? You stand in 20 inches width. Baths are about inches. The contractor "didn't recommend a half wall. WHY? Glass on top of that knee wall gives you all the light from the window within the shower. It doesn't "leak".. Maybe have the brilliant contractor design your bath, as he apparently can not do, : ) You can leave the door and do as suggested above by another poster. Either can work as she posted. But a bath with no linen consideration is one I would try to AVOID. The bath is "adamant" about its INCHES. The inches are the dictators. I can assure you a 42 x 48 shower is very generous in daily use. Having no place for supplies and towels and etc at hand is not fun in a master bath, Which is why you plan first, buy vanities and tile etc..........after. I assume you now have a vanity with two finished sides, and in almost any scenario ......you don't want or need two finished sides....See More- 7 months agolast modified: 7 months ago
