My DH just made a double batch of Black Bean Soup with Cumin from the (older) cookbook by Jane Brody. We used our own-made rich chicken broth and maybe added a but more cumin. We enjoyed it the next day and I put pieces of tortilla chips in my hot soup.
We plan to make this again. We put about 1/2 of the doubled recipe in the freezer. It has a little kick, but is not spicy.
