What do you have more of, shoes or roses?
Comments (36)It is neck and neck roses running equal to shoes, since I rent. Despite having an intention to simplifiy my life and buy fewer things that I don't need, which includes shoes I don't wear and roses bought or grown from cuttings on impulse 88 of those in the past. I've acquired 3 pairs of shoes that I bought more than a year ago and have not worn yet, though two are very stylish, black leather with ankle straps, one with leather pleating on the toe area, ( I love ankle straps and kitten heels). In addition to c. 12 other various footware, flats, heels, -one strappy pair of be-jeweled thongs, to wear with sundresses. - Doc Martin black leather boots, for Halloween mostly as I've outgrown mosh pits. - a demure pair of low cream heels for church on Sundays, and Evensong. --blue plastic beach thongs -two pairs of Clarks sandals, in brown and navy. - two pairs of sneakers, white, and blue. -Mary Janes Roses, I went from having c. 200 to care for, to c. 14 last time I counted, the problem is of renting. Still looking for a house to buy, or rather property to plant a rose garden, with a house on it. Note the roses come first. Oh, to have what Melissa has.... it is hard not to desire such vast beauty for my own, 500 roses in Tuscany, and to share it with loved ones. Lux....See MoreIs Fall/Winter Jades Growing Season?
Comments (4)Well my super hot summer this year would explain why my other Jade is now just about dead. This new one is in very rocky, gritty, sandy soil, but it arrived bone dry and it was like a rock! So I soaked it, so it would take up water when I do water it. Now that we are going to have a 'cold spell' this weekend, the HIGH 60's at night, it is finally going to maybe be good growing weather. Sounds like when we get our spring/summer heat again, this jade is going to get more shade this coming spring/summer. We are entering our 'dry season' once November hits and the hurricane season ends, finally. Then it is 6 months of nearly no rain! So I keep an eye on everything from my Stapelias to my lawn. Well my stapelias seem to behave like where they originally came from. Bloom and grow in the months that they do from the areas that they came from. With the exception of the humidity and rain storms, I guess Fla. is like Africa. Hot and dry a lot of the time, and they bloom when it is dry and hot. So...maybe the jade behaves the same? Time will tell. Gonna give it my best shot....See MoreWhat gift would you like to pass along this holiday season?
Comments (12)I'd like to give a shot of common sense to everyone. To the ones who have to stay in the lane to try to get just one more car length before cutting over and making everyone panic stop. The ones who think a flu shot will keep them from getting sick. The ones who think they're saving money by putting things on credit cards with minimal monthly payments. The ones who think they're doing themselves good by moving every few years, refinancing to lower their payments rather than the amount paid and the coupon queens who think they're saving money by buying things they won't use and only bought it because they had a coupon. And the ones that think paying an annual fee to walk in the door of the Grab-n-Grunt is saving them money. I could go on, but I'd sure like to share that rare commodity called "common sense"....See MoreAnnual Fall Shoe Quest
Comments (49)I am so disappointed to hear this. I agree that it would be strange to see the exact same pattern on both feet -- especially in this style which makes the pattern so prominent on the foot. Ive been on the fence about ordering another size after my size was sold out. I had planned to get a wide to allow room for socks but I have a pair of boots where I did the same and my foot moves around in them too much. I think I am going to pass. It's a shame though because I find the other snake patterns too small and too busy. I haven't had time to shop for other styles but I think my next focus will be a pair of light gray suede pointy toe booties. I am also tempted by the blondo waterproof booties that don't LOOK like rain boots. Ive had fall shoes out all week-- I worked at home on Wed when we had 90+ temps but the rest of this week has been pretty darn cool.. my heat came on this morning! It's time.. it's time for new slippers too!...See MoreFunkyart
