So funny as we grew up with pizza.... actually "Apizza" (abheetz). We were catholic and had meatless fridays...pizza was us kids' favorite meatless meal! And when we had it, we had it plain with just grated cheese. The other popular choice was with scamorza (scamotz). Never mozzarella. I guess it was part and parcel of living not that far from NYC and New Haven.
