I would also switch shower area and closet. It will be much quieter for the bedroom to have the plumbing on the wall where the closet currently is. Also, I don’t think there will be moisture issues because the shower is far enough away from the closet. We walk through our closet to get to the bathroom, specifically designed that way, and there is no moisture at all. First, we don’t take 20 minute long steam showers and, second, we have two round, quiet, exhaust fans on either side of the shower. So put it an effective fan and I wouldn’t worry about it. But those are also pretty big closets. You mentioned beach house...second house? Just seem large if it is beach or second home. But perhaps you have other things to store? My hubs would not need as large a closet as I would either. ;) finally, the shower area does seem kinda tight and dark. Maybe if you switch it with the closet you could grab a few extra feet? Just some general air circulating around the shower and tub would be nice. Good luck!

I'd probably try to cover most of the floor with the rug. But consider your door swing and the thickness of the rug. Our new house has doors that fit very close, so they can't swing over even a flatwoven rug, which makes the swing the limiting factor in the size of the rug that fits in my bedroom. Really, what I'd focus on is trying to incorporate as many natural/organic materials into the space to bring some warmth to it. Wood, textured textiles, etc. I'd try to look vintage over going to Ikea for a lot of this as Ikea doesn't tend to have much solid wood stuff (no shade, I LOVE a lot of Ikea stuff), but adding vintage/one-off/antique type items to a space helps prevent it from reading as "from the ikea catalog"

I really would not do the wood accent feature in your house. I think it can limit furniture placement and is not easily reversible without a lot of scraping spackling and sanding. At least with wallpaper, if the wall is properly primed and sized you can remove it down to the wall surface without damaging the wall fairly easily. I also think based upon your other projects that your house is maybe too sophisticated for it. The big place I see it is on flipping TV shows were they are trying to get big impact for very little money and trying to avoid having something "too taste specific" like art or a wallcovering. It's a little low-end in your case, and in general the idea is at it's sell by __ date in my opinion. Still cute in certain place, but not here. If budget is not really a major concern, Phillip Jeffries, Thibaut and Schumacher all make nice wallcoverings including some murals. Phillip Jeffries has a lot of great grasscloths and other natural papers. If you like things a little offbeat, look at Cole and Sons

Love the green! In my last home we made a headboard with plywood, foam, muslin, and an unused quilt that was the right color. We stapled the muslin and quilt around the back of the wood and then used a large French cleat to hang it on the wall. It cost maybe a couple hundred dollars total and I loved it. We’ve recently moved into our newly built home and I was planning on getting a Thuma bed frame as well. I don’t think the headboards they have are tall enough for my room, so I plan on building another headboard like our last one and letting it drop to the top of the bed frame where their headboard options would sit.
