Thank you all for taking time to post and for your reassurance that the metal finishes can be successfully mixed. Although in those beautiful kitchens, I really think anything would look good! Mine is definitely more 'humble'.... (Shanghaimom - your kitchen is my dream.... I had seen it on another thread and bookmarked it. I just didn't focus on the fact that the pulls were burnished brass - on my monitor, they looked like brushed nickel.) So - let's assume that I do use antique gold-toned hardware in the kitchen. Since we will be painting woodwork and replacing cabinet hardware throughout the house (both bathrooms, hall linen closets, laundry cupboards) does it all need to match the finish of the kitchen hardware? Or could I use a different finish in the bathrooms ie satin nickel or oil-rubbed bronze? We were not planning to replace all of the interior doorknobs (50+ year old brass) when the woodwork is painted - in case that impacts your answers. Thanks again for walking me through this....

You definitely do not need to match your kitchen faucet to your appliances. The majority of people opt for stainless steel appliances, but have faucet finishes of all kinds. Whether a brass or brushed nickel faucet will go in your kitchen is dependent on your choices for cabinet color, counters, floor, light fixtures—which you have not described. It’s nice to have your faucet finish match your pulls/knobs, but not required, and many kitchens do not have them matching.

Is there shower fixtures that match ? IMO you can mix metals but I do not like shower and sink metals to be different .Not sure what you mean about swapping plumbing.You can of course get tha cabinet and do your own counter to do what ever faucet you want I do that all the time with the Godmorgon vanities

I cannot discern on my monitor the difference between your pulls and the color of the hook to the left. Can you describe the color you're after? I was thinking something a little more angular might mesh better with the pulls than what you've posted...but I cannot tell what finish you are seeking.
