The problem is, not all accessories, not even generic ones, fit all brands. In my experience, no accessories for one brand fits another without getting an adapter.

When I needed a new floor brush, I bought one on Amazon, and also an adapter to fit the new brush and the old vacuum's wand. My DD had Prime, so I received it in 2 days.

One place you might look in the big box stores is in the area with the shop vac accessories, not the regular vacuum area.

I put in my model # and it only brought up the ones for my machine. Also Also, I only looked at the original equipment ones.

I've found the size to be universal and all I have fit both my 1 gal shop vac and my Oreck hand vacs.

If I've used one on floor or closet louvers, I wouldn't want it for a lampshade or upholstery until washed so have always kept a few at the ready...for one of those days I'm especially ambitious.

Indeed, morz8, I plant to get 2 or 3 because I use this sort of attachment for various things. Excellent point and reminder. The ”favorite” one I was using for rough stuff had shorter bristles and they were stiffer —- most likely from being worn down over the years. Good for louvres, but not lampshades.

I am not wild about shopping, but I like to support local vendors and the humans who work in stores around my neck of the oods. I also like to touch, feel, sniff, taste whatever ;-)

Like so many people, we get the A prime etc. but I see the frequent delivery truck on our dinky country road. It seem about equal to the traffic generated by the few homes here.

We can order a $4 salt saker, free delivery. A day later from the same vendor order a single lens cover. On and on. Each one a ”free delivery” truck trip that is 20 miles beyond the usual suburban, city or hill and dale. (we live where the geography would likely mandate that a chain pizza delivery or ”cellar door dash” would have to charge $20 more or we’d feel obligated to give a fat tip plus pay their first borns college tuition. And the pizza would be soggy and cold.

So, we have never ordered food delivered.

But, I am one of those peoplwe who might try to be pragmatic about other things. Physical therapy? I’ll find a way to bake my own. (not really, but almost..

Thanks, joann! I already order a couple, but did look around that addictive temu site. I spotted a bunch of gizmos I’d have fun playing with and it was fun spending a bit of my rainy Sunday browsing.

New England has had about 13 RAINY weekends out of 16 this far. It rained for about 5 weeks in the early summer and that was followed by about 6 weeks of jungle heat and humidity. You’d think I’d have already vacuumed everything 90 times over.

Isn't Temu one of the 2 sites that have been linked to issues involving the CCP, not to mention complaints about no real customer service, bait and switch advertising, people not getting what they ordered or missing parts etc etc?

Rock bottom pricing is meant to undermine, not just complete with, other businesses. The company has a nominal "headquarters" in the USA, but it is a Chinese company with the shots being called in China. At those prices, how well do you think the workers are being paid?

All that said, I admit that I have had to order a few things that are Chinese-made, from EBay or Amazon, simply because they aren't available otherwise. But I am staying away from Temu and Shein.

As raee said, avoid Temu. Recently saw a warning against them on the financial TV news. it is a Chinese company whose ownership is difficult to uncover. People who use Temu often find that malware is implanted in their computer, and some time later, their financial accounts are emptied.

I looked around and wondered when I saw some of the chargers and digital devices (and the USB photo storage/transfer tools about the possibility (or likelihood) of unwanted spy or malware being part of the deal.

I was tempted to buy the push-pin magnets. BTW, regardless of the seller, these small stong magnets are a hazzard to infants and small children. They can (have been) swallowed by kids/infants and necessitated complex and difficult surgery. They would be the last thing you’d want to put on refrigerators or cabinets where any young one could access them.

Would I want to give them my cred card or personal information?

I've ordered from Temu several times without any problems, and they carry many of the same "made in China" items that are sold by other online websites. You do have to be careful, because they have cheap knockoffs and some things are just cheap junk. The customer service is excellent. I saw a list of things that you shouldn't buy from Temu because of labor practices in China, but I think that holds true for any company that sells Chinese-made goods. That is why I will never buy any shoes or apparel, etc. with the Nike name on it. From what I've learned, Nike is one of the worst offenders when it comes to using cheap Chinese labor to make their expensive products.

Well, of course - but it is possibly the same sort of situation we have had more than once in the past, when the Chinese government has subsidized below market prices in their exports in order to undercut fair trade and damage competition.
