Where'd the duckweed go?

I'm not disappointed, but just curious. I have a 300 gallon stock tank in the ground in which I have some marginals and a water lily (with a pump goind). All summer, it's been totally covered in duckweed. Even when I tried to remove some, it rapidly grew back. A couple weeks ago I went out, and every single bit of it was gone. Any ideas how that happened? I do have tons of a feathery-type algae growing on the sides of the stocktank under water. I don't think that factored into it.

Any ideas where the duckweed went? I also have an old deserted 300 gallon stocktank filled with soil and about 6-8" of soil on the top. It used to be my lotus bog, but it died off. It has been covered in duckweed for years, yet the frogs seem to like it. Just strange that the duckweed is still there and completely gone in the other one. Any ideas? Thanks!
