Are you sure you want to cover the attic access? I would get a flat panel door and paint it and the trim the same color as the wall so it blends in better. I would have painted the slanted wall/ceiling section the wall color instead of the ceiling color. That would make the ceiling look higher and give you a nice backdrop for a headboard. I don't think paneling of any sort is going to work well in this room. Pull the rug down so the end table isn't on it. Then more of the color will show at the foot of the bed. Dress the bed and get some curtains and art and it will be a lovely room.

IMO first a headborad . No to covering the access door but the panel door idea painted like the walls is a good plan. Is there a reason for the bed having to be there? I used all that attic space in one of our homes for a nice closet space with drawers all built into the attic.

Thanks Patricia, that is a good idea for the attic space. It does continue the slope down as the ceiling so it it a bit tight. I’m open to moving the bed. Where would you put it? Also thoughts on color for the wall and trim? I didn’t mean to actually cover the door but to try and make it “disappear” somehow. Good ideas so far but not sure about color. I am having a hard time finding a headboard and bedding as I am not a fan of bedskirts and the box springs will show if I don’t have that or a bed with a frame. I am renovating an entire house and not great at decorating yet. I have a visitor coming next month so need to get this room in some sort of shape

Kandrewspa thank you, I will look for this door and use the ideas you gave me for the colors! The rug is too Al small maybe? I’ll pull it down as recommended and see.
For the curtains, do I get short or longer to the floor for a short window??

Hi Darcy. To cover the box spring, consider using a fitted sheet that coordinates with your bedding.

You might look at placing the head of the bed in front of both windows. If there is another wall, that might work as well, but since we can only see two walls we can't say for sure. Below are some bedrooms we have done for clients which might help you more with your current dilemma.
