The roots would probably appreciate a light cover of soil, compost, or organic mulch add on top. Daylilies don't naturally grow exposed to air like this and while they may well survive, they won't be at their best.

So it is spreading with rhizomes? Otherwise I would have guessed Verbena urticifolia, white vervain. And is white snakeroot really that bad? I've a;ways wanted some but haven't gotten to it yet. Figured it could keep pace with my zig-zag goldenrod. But if it's worse I better not!

There’s a couple online sellers that carry your plant. My guess is your new Echeveria is a fairly new hybrid. There’s just not much out there about you’re specific Echeveria YET, give it a couple years on the succulent market and you should start seeing more about your Echeveria online. This has happened to me, I bought a Pachyveria a few yrs ago, and the tiny bit of info I could find about my new Pachyveria was all in Korean, but a couple yrs later I was able to find more examples of my plant online. New hybrids and cultivars are being made every year, it takes time for info about these succulents to reach the masses, and for online sources to get updated. Luckily most Echeveria require the same treatment. They need a fast draining mix. If you get a bagged cactus mix at a place like Lowe’s or Home Depot you will need to amend the soil with rinsed perlite or pumice. Most of these pre made cactus soils aren’t that great and need a little help. A mix of half perlite or pumice with half cactus soil will do. When you decide to repot clean as much of the old soil off the roots before repotting into the new mix. Be sure to give your new Echeveria a pot that has drainage holes at the bottom. Water when the mix is thoroughly dry. Idk what your hardiness zone is, but if it’s mild where you live the Echeveria should live outside. Echeveria need a good amount of sun to stay looking compact. Assuming you live on the Northern Hemisphere, if it’s too cold of a climate where you’re at put your Echeveria next to a warm south facing window. Be sure to turn the plant every so often to keep it from getting that “growing towards the light” look. Watch out for signs of etiolation if you do keep inside. Goodluck🌵🙂.

Pictures… im afraid the pics are not very clear. the main stem is now at about 1.5 feet tall as i have taken out the top by more then 2/3. and it about 1/2” thick. it has four lateral branches growing, out of those the front three (facing the camera) are much thicker (about 1/4” or more at the base) while the 4th branch is thin. @ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5 can you please suggest what i need to do to move it successfully? what care it needs after transplant? i once tried to move a volunteer sassafrass and thad did not end up well, partly because deer kept nibbling the plant, but mainly i think due to bad drainage. it succumbed after about two years. I am hoping this one will grow in a mostly shady spot. the location i have in mind doesnt get much direct sun in bottom 6 feet, but plenty of bright light. once the tree reaches 6’ sun will not be a problem.
