Just wanted to say I agree. I like mixing finishes actually because I prefer a vintage feel and sometimes matchy matchy can read as too modern. However, the 2 finishes I think you really can't match well are chrome and polished nickel. Instead of looking like you did it purposely, it looks like you are trying to pass one off for the other. They aren't different enough to 'blend' them, so you're only option is to pass them off as the same. They ARE close enough that if you have small items, they would be fine.... In my half bath, the toilet paper holder and the rim around these little porcelain knob/hooks are polished nickel and everything else is chrome. There is so little of the nickel that I think I'm the only one who notices it (but believe me, I do notice it and it bugs me LOL.) I just think that the tub fixture is a LOT of chrome, and you couldn't try to pass them off as the same.

Thank you so much everyone for your comments. I was leaning towards the first or second fixture because they have halogen lighting, and I read that halogen lighting is best for the bathroom. However, I've been hesitant because I'm not crazy about the style. Those are out. Now it's between the third and fourth fixtures. I'm going for a more contemporary look in the bathroom, so I prefer the style of the fourth fixture. Can polished brass be contemporary? The downside is that I would have to get it in polished brass to go with the rest of my bathroom, and I think the brass takes away from the contemporary look. Would chrome look okay? My shower door and tub fixtures are all polished brass, but the sink faucet and cabinet knobs are two toned brass and chrome. The sink and tub are about 8 inches apart. I like the third fixture because it is two-toned, but the look is a bit traditional. Athensmomof3 (love that name), my medicine cabinet is directly above the sink. I've been looking at make-up mirrors. It's too late to get one that's hardwired. I've seen a lighted mirror that plugs in, and you can remove the cord from the mirror when it's not in use. I might get that one.

Annz.. the room is roughly 10 x 10, not counting the fairly large shower. and there is a skylight, so the room looks pretty big even with the new corner tub ( it did not have a tub before only the long vanity and a dressing table). I am painting the room today, Valspar Soul Chocolate, white trim, light khaki-ish color ceiling. Fixtures are white, tile is beigey. Gee, it looks better than it sounds. Patricia./.. thanks, I kept thinking '2/3' measurements formula, but i was guessing. it just seemed a 4 light fixture was too big, but there are 3-light fixtures that are not as long as the one i bought. I did see one that was 19 1/2 inches long that i liked. So, I will get the room painted today and hold the mirror and fixture up there. i think the mirror looks better horizontal, that would be the 38" length. Thanks again

Folks are going to want a diagram of the bathroom with measurements for all the walls and doors and windows, location of shower and toilet. So print up some graph paper from an online app and get to it! My point of view on a vanity in a full bathroom is that you will need all the storage you can get. Drawers are easiest to work with. But are there any other things that you will want in your bathroom? Waste basket? Hamper? Do you have a good place to hang towels, or will you want to leave space on one of the walls near the vanity for that? Only you can know what you need. It is best to plan it all out ahead of time and have all components in the house before the contractor starts so that you waste the least amount of time and will not run into the issue of having to change your design when one of your products is unavailable. Are you doing this bathroom DIY? The shower looks very pretty. I love the slight variegation in the color of the tile's glaze.
