Thanks for the suggestion of Crypton. I saw it at Joann and was impressed with it. I am leaning against it because I'm looking for more of a canvas or linen look fabric. Most of the Crypton swatches I saw were more textured, like chenille. Very pretty, but not what I'm seeking. According to the Sunbrella website, you can machine wash in cold, and even use bleach (!). I just don't know how comfortable it would be.

I purchased a large sectional from Bassett furniture in 9/15. Had it covered with Sunbrella fabric solely because of promises about it being the best for cleaning. Wrong. It's been a major nightmare. It was an expensive mistake. Then a 2 year old and a choc chip cookie met up with it in 8/16. That led to 6 months of back and forth wtih Sunbrella/Glen Raven, Bassett and 2 cleanings by Stanley Steemer(Sunbrella sent them). They ended up reupholstering HALF of the 12x9ft sectional- had to be removed from the home for 6-8 weeks! Now I keep dog throw covers on it when anyone other than myself and my husband are going to sit on it. It's horrible. It was a very expensive mistake. I would never recommend this stuff. The irony is I do have all the dining chairs and counter stools covered in the textured Sunbrella fabric--- I can clean it up no problem. But the Dove Grey Sunbrella fabric on the most expensive piece in the house can't be cleaned. I welcome the name of any company that knows how to clean this stuff. And yes, we did attempt to do as the chart says with sepcific cleaning items. No luck. Very telling that the cleaning company they sent out couldn't get the chocolate stains out either. Oh, can't forget after the professional cleanings, the sectional had odd brown tinged stains where they had been none!

Thanks for the great tips. Yes, it's a good point that 16 won't be sitting at the same time...more like 12 or so. Sadly, I have to go fairly dark due to the cleaning and staining issues. I should have added that I plan to add a large 12 x 15 area rug to break up the dark sofas from the darkish wood. I can't go with medium gray because it will look too "matchy-matchy" with the med. gray stone fireplace. Quick question/concern...I searched for sofas that are made from "Sunbrella" people here suggested and there are only a few and they are outdoor sofas. Mostly, the Sunbrella fabric is pillows. Also, I'll be removing both sofa tables behind the sofas that are there now, so that will give me another~ 4+ feet. But I still plan on putting more narrow sofa tables as I don't want the sofas right up against the walls, so it will be more like an extra 2 feet I'll be gaining. Any other suggestions for a "tough" fabric that won't be torn easily? We've had issues with guests sitting on the sofas, etc., with keys, etc, in their back pockets that tear the fabric or snag it. What are opinions on leather? Vinyl? Also, I'd like to lighten up the room with a cleaner, more modern white (ish) paint, maybe with a touch of gray, )but not with any blue or "pink" in it.) The walls are now painted Sherwin-Williams "Accessible Beige" and the Doors (not seen in the pictures are "Dovetail"...which I LOVE, but is way too dark for the walls. I've already gone down the line of the "Dovetail" paint strip and the lighter colors look kinda "pink-ish" in that room.) Thanks again everyone

Wow, your place is spectacular! I have been there and just love it, you are quite lucky to have a little piece of paradise there ;) I really like your thoughts on the seaglass colorways. It will be beautiful! I've had some custom Sunbrella cushions outside under a covered patio for about 8 years and they look as good as the day we got them. I chose the Dupione fabric from that same Elements collection and it has survived teenage boys, hurricanes, Texas heat and many spilled margaritas probably. So if you're concerned about wear and tear I highly recommend that particular line. The texture also helps camouflage any possible stains. Being that yours will be in an inside room I'm sure they will hold up just fine with whatever you choose.
