Coordinating/Picking Colors of Walls and Cabinets
Comments (6)Meditative may be too dark, but I could be wrong- not sure what you're going for... Whatever you put on the walls I would cut it back by more than 50% b/c when it is in the whole area it takes on much more color. We are doing yellow cabs and the paint for the wall I could swear wasn't even yellow-- more beige with slight yellow undertone. Once it went up it looked so different than the 16" x 16" swatch I painted up. Definitely seemed yellowish. It actually worked out but just remember it will look darker (more saturated) when it's on all of your walls. Actually, once the cabs went up it toned that color down so much that it doesn't look yellow anymore so if that's the case ignore this paragraph! lol We used BM Mascarpone AF-20 with our upper cabs and all the crown and base trim which I am LOVING. It is a creamy white but you'd have to see how it looks with your Meditative. Actually we are using it with BM's Woodlawn Blue HC 147 and it looks great....See Moregreek villa cabinets
Comments (13)@barncatz Thank you for the tile suggestion. I really like them. When searching online, those did not come up. I will check them out! @Patricia Colwell I agree, paint should be last. Although our new build is not an open floor plan, the main, public spaces will be the same tone paint and Greek Villa works in the living, hallways and with the wood floors being used throughout. Alabaster works well also so it is an option. I know the mainstay white tiles are not a good fit for the warmer white walls I am seeking...and I want to stick to my budget also. Thank you both for taking the time to respond with such great remarks. I appreciate it....See MoreNeed Help with SW Wall Color - Alabaster, Greek Villa, something else?
Comments (2)Hi, I just choose pure white for my cabinets. All the advice i got on here was just to paint the walls pure white. but i will have pure white trim. not sure how that would look with your old trim though, if you say no one notices the diff then might work for you....See MoreADVICE / SUGGESTIONS. Comments (8)it's not about the mess, it's about how those two elements look together. the quartz, the waterfall, the gray colors, lean more toward a more modern feel. the brick is more traditional, more rustic. Can I show you your quartz (or very similar one) w/Cloe Tile? Silestone calacatta gold, cloe tile. Cabinets are Chantilly Lace Here's a shot further back showing the island, it was done in BM Dior Gray. looks very nice w/the wood tones. I think this would be a better combo w/your flooring. In any case, PLEASE hold off on choosing a backsplash until everything else is in. you have to wait and see how it all looks before choosing a backsplash tile. Here's Silestone w/BM Hearthstone on the Island (this would actually look better w/your brick Here's a photo mock up of everything (the cabs are Fabuwood in Onyx Frost) I think a less yellow white would look better. The top one is the painted sample? Have you taken this home in your kitchen w/your lighting AND with a sample of your quartz countertop? do not finalize these choices until you've seen EVERYTHING in your lighting. I'd also get some other samples of Austere gray and take those into your kitchen w/your flooring. It can have a sickly greenish tinge to it this before and after used Austere Gray(w/the warm yellow light used here, the cab color is a very sickly looking shade of green. next to greek villa, it's going to look like this. Here's White dove and Austere Gray with brighter white lighting your flooring has cooler gray tones. I'd pick a cooler white. (but you need to that color in your own room/lighting) before finalizing it. https://jacobowensdesigns.com/blogs/news/sherwin-williams-greek-villa-color-review here are some other comparisons. what if you did a darker bottom color? Knoxville Gray is a great color w/a white upper compliment. or these darker greens. BM Rainy Afternoon is also pretty. check out this link https://www.houzz.com/discussions/5466565/seeking-pics-of-installed-silestone-eternal-calacatta-gold...See MoreC. B.
