I guess I have no idea how to live with no guests ever. As for the TV how big is it. Waht is comfy to you? I like a nice armchair and ottoman so maybe start there .Are you male or fmale? Is there an eating space next to this space and where is it. I think a sofa and a chair with ottoman will fit easily into this space .but really we need more info Is there cable already installed somewhere ? Are the walls concrete ? Did you bring anything with you that needs to be incorporated ? Are you larger than average ?

Hola, thank you all for the replies…For more info, I’m a single woman and most guests would only be my close friends and we would most likely be in the kitchen (where everyone seems to go lol) I’m a normal size girl, just like comfy furniture and when I do watch tv like to be comfortable. Cable can be on any of the walls show in the floor plan so that is not an issue. I’m not really bringing anything with me and plan to buy all new. Let me know if I missed anything

Nothing next to the space but a natural walkway from front door to kitchen. Comfy to me is putting my feet up and nothing hard lol :-)

Also, depending on your climate and your overall style leather sofas can be remarkably comfortable, and this type is great for both lounging flat and sitting up reading. They look great with a faux fur throw or a real furry creature on them.

Depending on the size of the tv, the best wall might be the stair wall for it.

For comfort - maybe visit a West Elm or Pottery Barn to sit on the sofas.

When renovating I decided to buy 2 matching PB leather “Irving” recliners. I felt guilty when had friends over, usually 1 at a time, that I got the really comfy chair so wanted to be gracious and be comfortable for both of us. The Irving because smallest footprint I could find for a recliner. Also easy to get in and out of and high enough. (Even when had knee surgery) There may be more out there now. Have to sit in any chair you buy and measure. A nice table or even better a small chest with drawers for storage, not too low, between them. Great for food and drinks while watching TV. Think your room could also handle a small love seat so have seating for 4. Probably opposite walls with tv on the stair or other wall. Perhaps the chairs either side of window and chest in front of window. Slim profiles. No overstuffed arms and wide backs. Open bottom sofa gives illusion of space..Very slim tv stand/chest for TV at proper viewing height with more storage below. Not hang on wall as then becomes dominant in the space and cannot rearrange furnishings. Your dining chairs can be brought in if more than 4 are coming. Small tables each side of sofa so can eliminate a coffee table . Alternative is for 4 comfy swivel chairs with big ottoman in center fore all 4 to use. Adding a tray for food and drinks. Get graph paper and measure all possible purchases and arrangements. Tape on floor to imagine how will fit with both recliners extended to be comfortable. Rarely are they fully extended for tv viewing. Good luck and have fun.

I am most comfortable with a chair with a cushioned back and footrest. Because the den/TV room is not large, a pair of less-bulky narrow-arm recliners give the comfort without bulk. We have a small table between the recliners for the TV control, a cordless house phone and a couple of glasses or bottles of water. The TV is on a cabinet/stand which places the TV at eye level.
