I thought I'd try this puzzle but I quit

I was lent this puzzle, she couldn't do it either. Brutally hard. My eyesight couldn't even discern the pics in the black pieces. I just grabbed some white pieces to see if I could put it together. I wasn't going to turn them all over if I couldn't.

It's a Mosaic. Holy Moly, not a chance. Over 1,000 pieces.

She has another puzzler friend who is going to try it. Good luck!

That doesn't look like one for me and not this time of year. Maybe over a few long cold winter nights when I feel like being challenged. But I find a difference in enjoying something reasonably difficult as opposed to just impossible to focus on or discern. Not my kind of fun ;)

You have my permission to just put it aside ;)

OMG!

That looks like a major challenge. I think trying to assemble that would make my brain hurt!

I have had the same thing happen with two Hoyas. Both my Hoya archboldiana and obscura did almost nothing and were not what I would describe as healthy plants. I ended up cutting the top from the small plants and rooting them. So far so good as both plants are growing well now and the archboldiana has produced and retained it's first set of leaves since i got it last spring. If at first you don't succeed try try again LOL. Jo, it could be next year or the year after that your Fragrant Dew Drop reveals its true identity. Then no mystery. I'm wondering if the new registration by IdiotHe might be one I asked him about too. If so, when it becomes available for general distribution, I would love to have it in my garden. My DH's youngest child is named that. Or so I presume if it is the hosta I saw listed. Also, I have to go through my Back40 and retake pictures of the hosta which arrived all on one day, 4 orders, almost broke my system of record keeping. They are all looking pretty spiffy now. Only, I've avoided working in that area a lot since the mosquitos are bad there, where the air is still. I cruise through it looking for southern blight and such, but don't stand around long. That's where I bumped into a square plastic pot that was very heavy, and punctured my leg...wound up with leg up to avoid infection until the hole filled in and the red stuff went away. Plus my new Brothers P-labeler is here now, and I can make name tags to view without removing the originals from the pot. Also, have not watered in about two weeks, there is more than sufficient rain, like 4 inches in about an hour a few days back. Our temps are in the mid 80s but with really high humidity. Oppressive heavy air. Even my DH, who poo-pooed running a fan in his workshop, now has it going. It's his first summer this far south, and he cannot get over the humidity and its attendant health issues for the plants, hosta and veggie alike.

Hi Sheila! I'm going to make a stab at some of your pics., and keep in mind--I'm not an expert like so many others are, but here goes: First one: 'Golden Tiara' ? Second one: Looks like hostafreak's 'Frozen Margarita'? Third: hard for me to tell, it's really so small, yet! Fourth: could it be 'June Fever'? Fifth: pass Sixth: maybe a young 'Krossa Regal'! Twelve: it looks like you might have a 'Honeybells'. front center? What an AWESOME tree trunk!!! Hope it's not a Silver Maple!!! Fifteen: I know what the one on the right is, but can't quite get the name, yet and maybe a 'Pineapple Upside Down Cake' on the left? Twenty: MAYBE a struggling 'Queen Josephine'? I hope I got some of them for you--but you need others to confirm my guesses before you start making labels!! :o)

I think the top slice of 'squash' may be a piece of Fairytale or Long Island cheese pumpkin? The cut one on the bottom of the picture looks like a squash but the top one sure looks likes pumpkin. Look up Fairytale and Long Island cheese pumpkins on the internet to see them for a full picture.

I like a complicated puzzle but I don't like Elvis so devoting all those hours to work up a picture of

Elvis is not going to happen. The hardest one I ever did was all white and circular and lots of the pieces were identical. It was a nightmare. I did a fancy one that covered an entire tabletop once-butterflys I think it was. Squirrels kept stealing the pieces-I was doing it on the patio.

I'd pass on that puzzle, too. Nope, and I like challenging puzzles. But not headaches!

My DDIL's mother would love that puzzle. I'm not a fan of Elvis, but she loves him and listens to his music all the time. I think that puzzle wouldn't be as hard if you could concentrate on the colors and shapes of the pieces, but those little faces would drive me nuts .

Jasdip, I know you have worked some tough puzzles with the help of a certain kitty, so I'm surprised this one was too tough. If you aren't enjoying it, give it up!

Socks, don't worry, I didn't even turn over the pieces. I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it.
