What to use between bluestone patio pavers

Joanne

We are cleaning our older bluestone patio and need to refill the gaps between the stones. I’d rather not use polymeric sand because it’s not permeable, as far as I can determine. I think play sand is too fine. The terminology for other types of sand vary when I search for it.

I’ve seen ”concrete sand”, ”masonry sand”, ”play sand”, and other terms.

What is the best permeable sand to use? thanks.
