Comments (15)lol, love those pics!!! I hate hornworms with a passion. I usually find them on my brugsmania. To get them off I knock them off the plant with a stick then play golf with them and the stick until they land into the canal. I tried feeding them to the ducks but they refuse them and I've never seen any bird or fish go after them when I throw them in the canal. They must be just as disgusting to eat as they are to look at....See MoreKinder Egg ban. The most ridiculous thing I've ever read!
Comments (27)my son and family lived in germany where the boys were in love with kindereggs. they have a two piece plastic container that is kind of the shape of a c-battery but shorter. they are hard as the dickens to open! inside is a tiny toy that you construct using an instruction sheet, also inside and written in german. they are very intricate and wheels turn, etc. some series are whole items like clowns or animals or cars. there are collectors who pay good money for the toys. i still have a bag full of them and some are smaller than any toy parts i have seen here other than polly pocket dolls. the cylinder is contained inside a thin shell of two lays of chocolate...white and brown. it is a high quality candy and easily breaks into small pieces. you can also buy the candy by itself and my grandsons still get it from my daughter who now lives in germany. years ago i was able to buy kindereggs from a man in canada who sold them on ebay. the last time i tried, about 4 years ago, he no longer shipped to the us although the ban had been in effect prior to then. they just made the punishment harsher. so there, everything you need to know about them from someone with over 10 years experience.....lol....See MoreI don't think I've ever seen this before
Comments (21)The instructions are written that way because a lot of people who live on the Southshore of Lake Pontchatrain (where I live), will see the ad. I guess she wants them to know they have to come to the Northshore, where Covington is located. We Southshore people hate to travel the Causeway bridge to the Northshore. Northshore is like the country of New Orleans and thousands moved over there to "get away" from the city. So most of them travel to the Southshore every day for work. The folks on the Southshore however, very seldom travel to the Northshore because we hate to make that drive....See MoreThe most atrocious job of pruning I've ever directly witnessed
Comments (5)Unfortunately, an all too often occurrence :-( Many homeowners and 'landscapers' have the misinformed impression that all plants must be controlled into submission by heavy handed pruning techniques. Of all routine gardening maintenance/landscape chores, pruning is the least understood or mastered. Few understand that pruning simply encourages more growth and if not done properly, will result in very aberrant and ill-formed growth. Most plants require very little, if any, pruning!! And pruning to reduce size is the least valid of any reason to routinely prune and the one most commonly exercised. Much like it is required to learn the skills and pass a test before receiving a driver's license, I think it should be the same requirement before being allowed to purchase any sort of pruning tool!! There IS a skill involved in proper pruning techniques and knowing the when and how that is far beyond the realm of reality of most....See MoreJilly
