A survey! Mismatched Dining Chairs? Would You? Could You?
Comments (33)Ah! So far many of you might like different elements (chairs, table or even both) but many still need a common element too for a sense (visually?) of "decorative community" ...... I often wonder how I would feel about a table and chairs like the Weasleys --- in the Harry Potter series -- where EACH and EVERY chair is SO different around their long, long pine kitchen table ....... hmmmmmmm ....... Thanks for including photos -- wow! Those Ghost chairs are really cool --- and yes! I have often wondered if they are comfy too! LOL! :) Has anyone been to dinner at someone's house ---- and the chairs were UNCOMFORTABLE??? I have -- and I thought it was just me and my backside (which has way too much padding as it is! LOL) ----- but even my DH commented on them later ..... Jan...See MoreNon- traditional traditional dining room paint color help
Comments (15)Thank you all for the thoughts. I really like the idea of the gray, and the blues. Neither of which I had on my radar. It just helps me think outside the box, so when I finally decide on something it will really be what I like since I went through all the options. Gray is especially appealing to me. I do not have it anywhere else. I am wondering if it looks good though because of how it is everywhere right now?...See MoreDining Room to Play room - non-kidsy temporary toy storage
Comments (54)We did go with Ikea, the expedit. I LOVE them! I keep bugging DH to go back and get a couple more for our basement. I think they are great storage. I did think about using some of my DR furniture for storage and keeping it, but I just didn't think it would work for me. There are doors they make for the Expedits and some people paint them. There are amazing pics all over pinterest. I saved some to my playroom board and have it linked below, but there are so many good ideas. Here is a link that might be useful: Playroom pics...See MoreCan wainscoting be added to existing dining room walls?
Comments (1)"Does chairrail and existing woodwork have to be removed first?" Absolutly not,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if you cut every piece of wainscoat to precisly fit. I find it much faster removing existing chair rail and woodwork then install new chair rail with old floor trim when wainscoat was finished. If existing rail is recessed correct depth for wainscoat which is rare it can be reused....See MoreHU-341382031
