Salvador Dali had a painting and it had melting clocks in it. The melting clocks symbolize time being different and more fluid in when you are dreaming. I think this is what a joke is alluding to., Perhaps the woman is saying that there is not a lot of reality going on and opening the curtains and seeing a Salvador dali like picture is tantamount to saying that things are very unreal right now. I am guessing and could be completely wrong. :-).
