How to remove silicone from Wolf induction cooktop and flush install ?

our quartz counter has been cut for a flush installation of a Wolf induction cooktop. the installation has gone very badly. Silicone is smudged all over the surface of the cooktop and need advice on how to safely get it off. Wolf website says to use denatured alcohol and the supplied cooktop creme to clean. Neither have done the job effectively.

The installer let the silicone sit before too long before skimming the surface. we have had to take the cooktop out and try to remove the silicone from the quartz. Some is still adhering and need suggestions on how to remove to start the install again.

Also saw a video using aluminum strips to level vs the black foam shim supplie (which has all been used up and needs to be mostly removed). Has anyone done the install this way? Is it safe to use wood shims if needed? Wolf has not been helpful.

any advice is welcome. Thank you
