how to pick the best seed
Comments (2)I agree with Karyn1's suggestion of choosing by size, and I also add another factor - the 'float test'. Doesn't work for everything (some seeds just don't sink!), but generally if a seed sinks in a cup of water it's more likely to germinate than one that floats....See MoreHelp Me Pick a Healthy Rose: Which one is better???
Comments (17)Thank you everyone for your great insight. I'm still fairly new to gardening, but I'm learning so much from all you you and the GardenWeb community. Yes, I am pretty set on having a White Edens in my garden... although I may live to regret it based on Hoovb's experience. Hoovb: I'm hoping and praying my Edens won't suffer the same fate as yours did. So far they're done pretty well, although I've only had it since September. This morning, I went out and counted 20+ large buds on the Eden I planted in September... I would have had more, had I not dug it up and transplanted it with too small of a root ball earlier this spring. Kippy-the-Hippy: I'm thinking about planting it along with a White Climbing Iceberg rose together in the front of my house, trained up and over the garage. Have any of you grown two climbing roses together? I heard of people growing fruit trees in the same hole, I wonder if I could do the same with two climbing roses? I will look into the Somebreuil rose. I'm intrigued. I've never been to Descanso Gardens, is that off PCH? I think I've heard of it. Maybe I will have to grow a Sombrieuil with an Eden in my backyard....See MoreWhich ones should I plant in the front yard??
Comments (6)Ok thank you for your suggestions!! I really appreciate it. I didn't think about this before, but should I pick them according to their height too? Say if I have 3-4 lined up like Bill's front yard... I would like to pick the ones that have similar height. Or is that a moot point since I can always prune them to the desired height? I'm liking the idea of lining them up to separate the property line on the right side... then put the rocks like Bill did. That's very pretty. But then what do I do w/ the rest of the space next to it? Can I plant other flowers like roses, hydrangeas or something? I really don't want to add grass in that small space. I'll try to upload a diagram so you can see it. Any suggestions for some companion flowering plants near my plumies? Thanks!...See MoreMiele Optima II or the new Futura Crystal, which to pick?
Comments (4)@antss I'm looking at the Miele G5105SC-$1479 and the Miele G5705SC-$1779 These won't be fully integrated flush under counter? To study them I was comparing with the installation instruction drawings with that of the G2432SC and I can't seem to understand what the difference is depth wise that won't make it flush - sorry if this is a stupid question but could you explain since I' want a flush look. My second question: Which dishwasher would you pick? My last question: My Mile will be to the right of the sink, will that pose a problem since the intructions say that the cutout for the "water-drain-electric pass thru." is on the right side of the dishwasher. I can switch it at this point of the remodel if that is a problem. Thanks...See MoreDirt Digger Z6NH
