Using sheets of glass as a backsplash: experiences?
Comments (2)Mine was set in place and held pretty much by gravity and some caulk along the top. Also mechanically held in by the switchplate, which is screwed to the wall via the junction box. I've seen it done the way they used to do mirrors too with a screw hole toward the top of each corner. You will have several issues with just an acid etch. Along with seeing irregularity around the junction box, the undercounter lighting will also refract and cast shadows through the glass, and the glass won't look very monolithic Most glass backsplashes are painted on the back, in my experience....See MoreHelp needed with glass sheet backsplash in Annapolis

Comments (0)There aren't many recent posts on these. Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with glass sheet backsplashes such as manufactured by GlassKote or US Color Glass? All I've been able to find is that in the past estimates come in lower for US Color Glass than GlassKote. If anyone has either are you happy with them as the years pass? Have you had to replace any sheets due to cracking caused by heat? Thanks for any ideas....See MoreGlass Sheet Kitchen Backsplash
Comments (15)I love love love mine. I have had it about 2.5 years with no issues. I had a very hard time trying to find someone to do it, but another poster here told me about a local company here in Michigan, and they were amazing to work with. The company I used has partnerships in various areas around the country. I just talked with one of the owners a couple of days ago because we're thinking of using it in our shower, and he was telling me about how the work with companies in other areas and work with them. I would highly recommend them if they have something in your area. The company is Imagio glass design. On their website, you will see many different types of designs, but they do plain solid colored back painted glass as well. Also, they told me than it is not likely to get damaged, but if it does, they have stored all of the info for each sheet, so they would just be able to produce a new one without having to template etc all over again It is a breeze to keep clean, always looks good....See Moreminiso
