Finally more blooms

I looks like the drought will have an effect on some of the plants. Some look to have less buds. I'm going to deal with the drought: I am getting a portable water transfer pump that I can put in my creek and pump out free water for most of the flowers except the few in the front. I found some decent ones for not much money at Lowes.

The cold freeze days are typical every year here so no effect from that.

It's been a couple of weeks since Belle Isle Sentry started blooming. Finally 2 more bloomed.

Waiting in the Wings was way down in the foliage.

How fortunate you are to have a water source-free-for your plants. It is hot (90s) and dry here. My foliage is suffering. Yesterday we were in the donut hole with huge pop up showers all around us but no rain here. Perhaps your watering will help with your blooms.

Yay! More are blooming for you! How lucky you are to have a free source of water. I've been dragging my hose around for several days now. Like Kate said, my foliage is suffering too.

Wow! I love that you have so many blooming already. These are all wonderful and pure indulgence for the soul. Just what I needed to try to be optimistic that spring is around the corner.....even if that corner is covered in snow...lol. It is so hard to pick a favorite anytime of the year, but right now being so starved for daylilies they ALL are my favorites. The color of Hot Scheme makes me feel warm all over. I love your Dream Weaver and Lullaby. How's the prickles on Scepter d'Isle? It's very windy here and I'm reluctant to get a rose that might shatter easily, although I'm tempted by Scepter's famous myrrh scent. Thanks so much for the kind words. summersrhythm - I goofed and miss typed her name and now Houzz will not let me edit my post - she's not Pretty Miss, she's "English Miss", as my best guess. I found her unmarked, as the only iteration of this rose I ever found at a big box store, and was mesmerized with her blooms, that at some point in their growth form (that I didn't capture in that pic) look like camellia blooms. She's own root, and I am so smitten with her. She's always been pretty small as are her blooms, but at about 5 years old she just keeps sprawling a little more each year, and giving me more blooms each year. "'English Miss' is a floribunda rose bred by Roger Pawsey of Cants of Colchester, England, and introduced in 1977.[1][2] It was named in honor of the raiser's three-year-old daughter Sally-Anne.[3]"

Brad: Same here with no rain. Very dry. Good that you have another water source. Just keep your daylilies well mulched. Hopefully we will all get some "liquid gold" soon.

Nice to see so e blooms Brad! Its been so dry here, only 1/2” of rain in May. finally started watering, hope it helps.

My water bill will be huge, but water is more important than fertilizer. I would not be so sure that the March and April freezes (after February warmth) will not affect your plants. I thought that too, but am seeing low bud count now. Things like bud count are affected by weather long before scapes begin to form. It does seem, though, that scape density is fairly good this year. Too early for firm conclusions.

Oh good! I am glad you are getting more blooms. IT is weird that first blooms are often a bit weird thus the strange sepal.We are all pretty much having some plants in the foliage. Its's annoying, but at least they are blooming.
