I need a pic but a chandelier over a coffee table forever limits where your furniture can go and the reason for the 7' is to make sure when someone bends over the coffee table they do not bang their head . Can you post pics of the light and the space please . Just post here in a comment so we all have the same info.

I did it in my house. My husband is 6’ so he can just clear it by a few inches. Our traffic pattern in the living room is usually on either side of the light fixture, so it hasn’t been a problem over the 8-10 years it’s been there.

Here’s photo of the chandelier. Based on my measurements, the “flare out” (if you will) of the arms is a good 6 inches higher than the bottom point of the chandelier. So the arms would have a 7’ clearance. But the bottom “rod” piece would have 6’5” of clearance. I’ve also attached a photo of the room but it’s not a great photo. However I really don’t see how one would design this space in a way other than having a coffee table in front of the fireplace with seating on opposing sides. Would love thoughts and opinions. Thank you!

Perhaps it’s useful to see the floorplan

Unless you have people in the house that are 6'5" it shouldn't be a problem even if you end up moving the table on occasion. 99.5+% of people will not have a problem in your living room.

It really depends on the design of the fixture along with the dimensions.
