Free Photo-hosting Site?

Heck, I'm not an idiot. I know my way around computers. Far from an expert, but not bad at all. And I just CAN'T get Google Photos into my head. I've made albums, I've sorted the photos (various orders, including custom), and then I go back to the album and it's all messed up. Ok, I'll admit that I'm a dunce with Google Photos.

So - I'm looking for a plain-Jane photo hosting site so that I can share photos with friends. Something that can be accessed easily for friends with varying degrees of computer aptitude.

Please nothing that the "viewer" needs to sign onto or risk spam, easy to navigate, something that I can give view access but not edit permissions (read vs read-write).

Help, please!

There are so many variables with this it's hard to know where to begin. Typically...how many pics? How often? To how many users? Are these photos taken by a "camera" or a "cell phone"? Will those viewing the pics do so with a cell phone...a computer..both? Will they just want to view the pics, or save them to their device?

A plain-Jane site will probably not be easy and one that is easy may not be free.

Thank you, asinoh, for your response. You're completely right. As it turns out, I was finally able to get my one album finalized and shared from Google photos. They are my daughter's wedding photos and I wanted (with her ok) to send them to guests to view. I do appreciate your time and for responding.

Just sign up for photobucket.com, it's free. Once you signed up you can upload any photo's there. Then there will be a box under the photo for the URL. Click on the box and copy the URL. Insert the URL wherever you want in your post on GardenWeb. Keep in mind if in the future you delete your photo from Photobucket, it will no longer appear when somebody reads your post. There are other free photo hosting sites out there (just Google)but I find this one to be easy.

Photobucket is not calling it TAG anymore, HDD. Look for the one that says HTML code (the third one down in the list). Just click on it and it will copy, then paste it directly to your message, but be sure to leave a space (start a new paragraph) between that and your text (or between 2 photos)or else it will all run together and stretch out the screen. When you preview the message you should see your photo. If you don't, you probably used the wrong code, so try it again before you click "submit".

I have photobucket but do not care for it since all the latest changes. I have used imageshack for many years and still do. some others that are used by those doing ebay and craigslist http://www.galleryhosted.com/ IMGboot http://www.mejuba.com/ winkflash ImageShack FOTKI since they are all free you can try out as many as you like

I've used Pbase for years, no problems. It's basically just storage with a URL that you can share with anyone. Charges a small yearly fee. https://www.pbase.com/

You either download or upload photos to and from the site. You access by logging in. I like the security and the non mining of my data. I have various folders to organize my photos. How secure you make them is up to you. I use it to store photos of my personal items, food and yard. I think it costs 35 bucks a year which is well worth it to me for the security. Can access the photos from any Internet connected computer.
