Comments (150)V mcKague I am SO envious of your waterfall. I've been struggling with mine for years. I also have a biofalls thing. Can you see the black "Lip" where the falls come down or did you camouflage it? (hard to see in the picture). Also how far into the pond (above it) is your falls? I find if my fall "lip" is not really OVER the pond water, invariably some water leaks backwards through the rocks. Therefore I now have a sort of "diving board" idea which doesn't look so nice. Any tips about how you did your rocks would be so helpful (with the "steps", I mean). Did you attach your rocks with anything like cement or foam, or is that waterfall "au natural"? And why did you put 20 lbs of lava rock inside your falls? I have some "biofoam" stuff I bought to filter the water. BEAUTIFUL job you did there! (love everyone's!) Comments (17)My kitchen is very light-filled, as I have large windows on 2 sides of it and a window wall in the connecting family room. I also have high wood ceilings with beams and carved corbels, so unlike Beekeeperswife (gorgeous kitchen BTW!), I wanted to add decorative things above my cabs to draw the eye up to the ceiling detail. This hood over my cooktop is the main focal point (other than the mountain views out my windows). Although I didn't have them when I took the above pic, I now have two of these large green pots on the cabs flanking the hood. I like that they're rather simple, as they don't compete with the hood, but do add pops of color up there. In the far, formerly boring corner, I painted this antique window to resemble those at the famous "Inn at The End of The Santa Fe Trail", the La Fonda Hotel on the Plaza in Santa Fe. And, on another wall, above my fridge and ovens, I have these pots, chunky candles and angel santos. There's built-in lights up there, too, to light all of my things at night. Comments (34)I am so sorry you had this experience. Things like this leave one feeling violated. I don't think it matters how friendly you may be with the crew, stuff happens. I try to be as nice as possible when people are here working, making coffee, handing out cokes or water, even baking cookies at times. Yet, I have been hit several times. It's very upsetting. I have had a large antique china punch bowl stolen, various tools, plus dozens of bottles of champagne that my cousin had packed away in boxes I was storing for her - she's still mad at me and holds it against me that her bottles were stolen. It's amazing how invasive some workmen can be when they want to steal something, because everything stolen was buried deep in boxes, not out on display. We didn't discover the thefts until long after they were gone. It was sickening. Who knows what else was taken as so much is still packed away. I am about to have a lot more work done here and am worried about how to protect what I have. Believe it or not, last time I actually hid our silver under the floorboards - we have wide board floors and some were loose in a closet. Obviously, that's where I should have put the champagne. But, I never would have guessed anyone would have taken the big bowl which had been a special gift to me from my husband. A pox on the thieves! I am thinking seriously of getting security cameras and simply letting every crew know we have an elaborate system. My brother is a contractor and has them all over his worksites....See MoreRead Me If You're New To GW Kitchens! [Help keep on Page 1]
