Ideas for Decorative Grasses On a Street Border

I have a hedge that runs the length of a street in my front yard. There is no sidewalk or public easement to worry about. From the base of the hedge to the street, the slope is a bit too steep and I want to use plants to help root out that soil and stop erosion. I planted some cuttings from other parts of the yard there, but these have not rooted yet and I am considering other options. Can someone suggest a design of decorative low-water grasses to help firm out this very small area, while maybe also creating an interesting tapestry of different grass textures and colors?

To make it explicit: this is a SMALL area running about two feet to the street curb by 50 feet wide, parallel to the street. So I need miniature grasses that will be under 18-inch diameter at maturity.
