IMO a sofa and 2 chairs are usually my go to. If those are loveseats not on your life . Does he have a TV? How many seats does he need most of the time?

The way the furniture is pictured creates a box that impedes traffic flow. Put a sofa against the window on the left wall. Then two chairs perpendicular to each other on the corner where the 7 A-7 circle is on the drawing. The dimensions shown aren't sufficient for me to be able to tell you how large the sofa can be, but get something small so that you have room for at least one end table in the corner. You should have room for some type of coffee table as well. If he needs a TV, hang it on the wall next to the window that is next to the door on the right wall. Make sure not to hang it too high - this is a common error.

In such a small space, I think I'd place the furniture against the left wall ... and put the TV between the windows on the right, which would place the door in the middle of the arrangement, but people don't come/go constantly. This would make for a more open arrangement.

Hmm......I saw this on a remodel show on TV.......Put a sectional on the two walls with the windows.

Place the TV on the entry wall with a narrow low console under it or narrow shelf attatched to the wall.

Arc lamp in corner of sofa, round soft or hard ottoman/cocktail table.

Art on entry wall running the length to distract from TV.
