I suggest for windows 3+4 to have 3 panels: a wide panel on each side of the windows and one narrower panel at the center between the windows. Then each window can open at the center on the days you’d like just a little sunshine peeking through. The windows by the bed can have modern flat shades in a fabric that coordinates with the curtain panels, a more modern vibe then having all curtain panels in the room. The nightstands look a little mid century modern so I’m thinking you lean towards a modern vibe.

That's a lot of window for a bedroom. Window 3/4 will be greatly covered by the stack when open which isn't ideal in most situations as people usually want to see out the entire width which is why they put in such a large window in a given space. I might be looking into roman shades for that one if it were me.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've never thought of 3 panels as an option and still trying to wrap my head around it. Does this mean the middle panel would be anchored in the center and can be pulled in from either side?

Can you explain to me why 3 panels is better than 2 or 4 panels in this case? If I go with 3 panels how should I think about proportioning the width for each?

You don't have enough wall space (and non at all to the left of #3) for curtains to stack. One panel at each end and one in the middle, will look skimpy on that width.

As for putting one panel only on the small windows, I don't think will look too nice, since you have too much wall space between the windows.

I'd go with shades or blinds on all the windows.

The middle panel between 3+4 could be pulled both sides. With three panels they can still have some fullness when all panels are pulled closed. Some fullness when closed always looks better than flat. I suggested 3 panels since cost seemed to be a concern, but 4 panels all the same widths would be nicer.. You can try this out by buying drapes at a big box store and return them if they don’t suit you. But definitely use shades for the windows by the bed.

@midcentura I see, makes sense. So if I do 3 panels, with the middle panel set to 2x the width of the left & right panels, would that essentially look identical to having 4 equal size panels which you said would look best? (Since the center ends of the middle pair would not move around anyways)

Also this is a bay window I have next to the wife windows 3+4. There are blinds installed by previous owners which I will keep for now.

But any thoughts on black out curtains vs roman shades here? We will keep a little seating area here to watch TV.
