Hi guys! I initially posted this on the Kitchen forum and received great advice to post here as well. I'm building a new home and have researched which appliances I would like. Any jump out at you as duds? Any horrible mis-matches? Obvious better choices? You really have four options: 1. bite the bullet and paint the trim -- probably Decorator white in a semi-gloss, 2. paint the ceiling to match the current trim, 3. paint the ceiling with Dry Sage at a reduced value (10-30%), 4. paint the ceiling in one or more complimentary colors -- grey blue or pale gold come to mind as possibilities. You could go very dark in a room you want to be more dramatic and to sparkle a chandelier against (bedroom or DR, most likely). I favor 1 or 3. You could take a little of the dry sage and mix it into some decorator white to make a sample with what you have left over -- try it along a section of the crown. If you don't like it and another color doesn't sound more interesting, back to square one and painting trim white.

We are wondering if we should paint the French doors in the right and left side of the house a brown stain or paint black. Thoughts?

@jackowskib - thanks for the quick comment and kind words! I am considering shifting the fridge over. I'm waiting to hear just how much space we can stick in between the fridge and the wall to be sure I can open the fridge doors past 90°. The last thing I want is to limit access to the drawers inside. I have the same opinion about the bottom freezers actually. There are 2 models that I've seen that do a better job of capturing most of the space and they include a separate (can be opened w/o opening french doors) refrigeration/custom temp drawer. Those are the reasons I've added them to my consideration list. Also, we're going to have a small freezer in the house so I've got a little additional freezer storage available. That section of cabinet to the right on the counter will either be open or have a bifold door that opens to the right. Apparently those stay-open hinges are quite expensive!
