Do you know if it's the thick hardwood that can be refinished multiple times, or an engineered hardwood which is thin, and usually can't be refinished?

We have had to repair 2 areas of our hardwoods bc of a DW leak and a plumbing leak that damaged them. We waited after the 2 damages until a remodel was scheduled and incorporated the floor repairs into the remodel.

Our floors are the 3/4" hardwoods that can be refinished multiple times, and they never had been refinished when we moved in, so the future owners will have 2 or 3 refinishes they can do.

We hired a really old-school wood floor person that our neighbor recommended. The old school pros can work their "magic" with the stain, We even had 2 different species of wood and he was able to mix the stain so we can't even tell at the transition. Most good flooring companies have wood floor contractors. Have a few come over. If they say they can match the stain, they probably can. Mine did, and I was surprised.
